Shernall Street, E17

A rear extension and renovation project for a retired furniture designer in Walthamstow. The client was keen to make a contemporary space consisting of a new kitchen and dining area and a downstairs bathroom that all worked alongside his own furniture.

The interventions have created a counterpoint to the traditional Victorian house with angled corten elements, a cantilevered kitchen worktop in the bay window and a striking yellow extractor fan popping through the bay roof.

The design used quality materials throughout, from the corten cladding, sapele wood hob counter top and double doors to the garden and the bespoke plywood kitchen, they have all been built to last.
